Historians agree there was most likely a historical Jesus. Most likely. In other words, we are not even absolutely certain if Jesus really existed.
Besides, if a Middle Easterner today revealed he was the Son of God, unimpressed by any number of his witnesses, Christians would say f*ck off. And yet, Christians put their trust in illiterate Middle Easterners of 2000 years ago.
Finally, what we definitely know is that half of the Bible is from someone who had admittedly never seen Jesus, but allegedly dreamed about him.
